ATM Bombed at Lenasia Filling Station

June 21, 2016

Faizel Patel, 2016-06-21

An ATM has been bombed at a filling station in Bangalore Street in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

It’s understood three armed suspects entered the Select shop at the petrol station yesterday and ordered the staff to lie down before blowing up the ATM.

Witnesses on the scene told Radio Islam that the suspects allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene.

The polices Tsekiso Mofokeng says investigations into the incident are continuing.

“At about 21:30 unknown men ordered staff of the filling station to lie down and later the stand heard a loud bang. But there was an ATM bombing.”

Reports indicate that two suspects have been arrested while one remains at large.

Mofokeng says no injuries have been reported.
