From Aloo Paratha, to Samoosa’s and even Rockets. During the holy month of Ramadan there is a plethora of savouries that are prepared and line the table for Ifthar that you would well, not possibly see during any other month.
The myriad of delicacies which range from the usual samoosa’s in a variety of flavours, kebabs, bajjias and other out of this world creations now include new inventions by creatives that are yet to make it into the cook books.
Savouries take precedence during the blessed month of Ramadan, with many people snacking on the delights as opposed to having a regular meal.
So what are Radio Islam’s staff’s favourite savouries?
News anchor Moulana Mohammed Bham says his and many others all-time favourite is samoosa’s but can’t understand why everything needs to be fried.
“Spring rolls, pies, but my favourite is would’ve have to be my mother’s samoosa’s says Ml. Ibrahim Daya, while Mufti Moosagie says he loves his savouries and his favourite is moons.
Nauman Panchbaya, the receptionist at Radio Islam loves mini pizzas, while his brother Abdul Huk says he loves exploring an out of this world savoury called “rockets” which his mother makes.
And me? Well there’s nothing that comes close to my mom’s steak bajjias. One bite and you’ll be hooked.
