The family of Sheikh Abdul Salaam Bassiouni say his release from a police station in Egypt is imminent.
Bilal Bassiouni has been providing regular updates since his father was moved from the notorious Tora Prison where numerous high-profile prisoners have been detained to a local police station.
Sheikh Bassiouni was arrested by national security at Cairo airport in early December 2014 with Bilal after flying to Egypt for his daughter’s engagement.
Bilal says while there are no new developments in his fathers case, they are hoping he will be freed soon.
“We await anxiously for any news. We still believe that his release is imminent.”
Bilal has urged the community to continue engaging in prayer for the speedy and safe release of Sheikh Bassiouni.
