A mother and her daughter who were abducted by a gang in Letsitele outside Tzaneen yesterday have both returned home safely and unharmed.
The two were kidnapped when 6 men pulled over their vehicle at gun point.
The gang demanded one million rand; however after failing to receive the ransom they let the pair go and dropped the mother and daughter off about 30km out of Tzaneen.
Hawks Chief Spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says a manhunt has been launched for the suspects.
“We are linking the kidnapping with the one which happened in Polokwane two weeks ago because the description of the vehicle is the same”.
Two weeks ago, Aneesah Moosa was abducted after she was hijacked en-route home.
In another case, Abdul Hamid Jooma, a businessman, was abducted in Zeerust, however he managed to free himself after the car crashed.
Netshiunda says they will not be deploying additional police officials in the area as they believe there are enough; however he says they will be intensifying the search for the suspects.
