A man has been killed and his wife wounded in Actonville in Benoni.
It’s understood the couple who were both in their seventies were in their shop this afternoon when they were accosted by two armed men.
Police say nothing was taken from the shop.
The police’s Kay Makhubela says the motive for the shooting is not known.
“This afternoon the couple who were approached by two males who started shooting. One died at the scene. The other one was airlifted to the hospital.”
Makhubela says they are investigating a case of murder and attempted murder.
