Son Confesses Fathers Murder was a Planned Attack

March 16, 2016

A KwaZulu-Natal man implicated in the killing of his father has revealed the murder was planned a month prior to the attack on the Pietermaritzburg businessman.

Ashraf Tajoodeen was murdered last week after he was accosted by two armed men in what appeared to be a staged armed robbery at his Scottsville home in KZN.

The businessman put up a fight against his two attackers but was eventually overpowered and had his throat slit.

According to Public Eye Martizburg, police arrested the 25-year-old on Sunday after receiving information that he was allegedly behind the murder of Tajoodeen including the allegation that he had asked the family’s domestic worker to help recruit the killers.

The Police’s Mthokozisi Ngobese says detectives worked through the night tracing the suspects before eventually arresting all three in the Willowfontein area.

He says Tajoodeen’s son as well as the three other suspects made detailed confessions about the planning and execution of the murder.

Reports have also emerged that a family feud over finances may have been the motive for the killing.

The son is expected to appear in court soon.
