Family of Strangled Elderly Lenasia Woman Traumatised by Her Death

February 29, 2016

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2016-02-29

The family of an 80-year-old woman strangled to death at her home in Lenasia say something must be done about the crime in the suburb.

The elderly woman’s body was discovered by family members at the weekend with a scarf around her neck.

She was apparently last seen walking home from her sister’s house with a man known to her.

This family member says they are saddened by her murder.

“As a family we are very, very traumatised. She was an old lady and wasn’t a threat to anyone.”

He says the police have to do something about the crime in Lenasia.

“It is spiralling to the limits where we all as a community are really tired of crime.”
