November 12, 2015

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2015-11-12

KwaZulu-Natal police say forensic analysis will determine if a severed head found along the N2 freeway belongs to murder victim Nawaaz Khan.

Detectives from Umzinto and forensic experts recovered the head which was in an advanced state of decomposition in a gumtree plantation in Ellingham in Park Rynie on Tuesday.

The head had been placed in several plastic shopping bags and buried in the ground.

23-year-old Khan was hacked to death with a panga by his friend and a traditional healer who wanted to use the severed head for muti.

Khan’s body was found in a secluded forest last week.

The police’s Jay Naidoo says a 21-year old man has been arrested for the murder and is expected to appear in the Umzinto Magistrates Court later this week.

Police are still on the hunt for the traditional leader and are appealing to the public come forward with any information.
