One suspect has been shot dead and another injured after a shootout during a house robbery in Roshnee near Vereeniging
It’s believed the four armed suspects entered the home in the early hours of this morning.
The police’s Katlego Mogale says the suspects were disturbed after the owner of the home heard a commotion.
“The owner called the neighbourhood watch. As they arrived a shootout ensued between the suspects and the neighbourhood watch and the owner in which two suspects were shot and injured. One managed to flee with the other suspect and one was certified dead on the scene.”
She says police recovered a 9mm revolver and magazine with ammunition and are on the hunt for the two other suspects
The injured suspect remains under police guard in hospital and will be charged with housebreaking.
