Police are on the hunt for four suspects after a 50-year-old man was shot outside the Pizza Hut on Rivonia Road in Sandton.
It’s understood Adam Ballim, the brother of well known economist Goolam Ballim was shot multiple times after he and his wife were robbed.
The police’s Katlego Mogale said the four suspects approached Ballim and he fired shots at them after realising they were armed.
“The suspects shot back, injuring him. As they fled the scene they stole his wife’s watch.”
Ballim was wounded during the attack and was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have opened a case of murder and robbery.
