A 28-year-old businessman from Nirvana in Polokwane has appeared briefly in the Polokwane Magistrates Court on charges of murder after his wife was shot last week.
29-year-old Fatima Patel ‘s body was discovered in a pool of blood by her husband Rameez Patel allegedly after he arrived home between half past five and six o’ clock in the evening.
Fatima was shot in the face.
Westenburg Police spokesperson Captain Mohlaka Mashiane said Rameez was arrested on Thursday.
“Mr. Patel was arrested yesterday and appeared briefly at Polokwane Magistrates Court facing charges of murder for murdering his own wife on Friday last week.”
Captain, Mashiane said the motive for the killing is still unknown and police are investigating.
The matter has been postponed to the 28th of April for a formal bail application.
