Police Searching for Suspects After House Robbery in Lenasia

April 13, 2015

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2015-04-13

Police are searching for 4 armed men after they broke into a home in Okapi Street in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg in the early hours of this morning.

The police’s Kay Makhubela said the men got into the home after breaking a window and cutting the burglar guards.

“We had an incident this morning when four men got into a house and held the owner and robbed them of electrical appliances and cash and fled.”

“So far nobody has been arrested yet but we are investigating a case of house robbery,” Makhubela said.

Crime seems to be spiralling out of control in Lenasia.

On the 26th of March a 62-year-old woman was strangled to death in a house robbery, while on the 25th of March a 25-year-old man was shot and killed after an attempted hijacking in Extension 13.
