Rescue 786 Ambulance Service officially launched its new headquarters in Amalgam yesterday.
The ambulance service which falls under the umbrella organisations of the Jamiat ul Ulama SA and Radio Islam is the culmination of efforts of concerned organisations and community members.
Moulana Heider Ali Dhorat, chairperson of the board of Rescue 786 said the aim of the ambulance service is to provide a prompt, quality, efficient, effective and affordable emergency medical response to the community as a whole regardless of race, creed, or gender.
According to Moulana Dhorat, over the years the government emergency medical rescue services have been put under severe strain, continues to deteriorate and private emergency medical rescue services is often out of reach of the layperson.
Moulana Dhorat said Rescue 786 which was launched in October 2011 aims to assist in this regard while at the same time complimenting existing rescue services.
“Rescue 786 provides an accessible and affordable emergency and medical rescue solution.”
He said Rescue 786 Ambulance Services operates on a “cost recovery”, “not for Profit” basis.
Moulana Dhorat said Rescue 786’s intention is to expand within the Gauteng region and other areas in the near future.
