A 25-year-old man has been shot and killed after what is reported to be an attempted hijacking in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg last night.

Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said three men approached the victim in his driveway in Extension 13 demanding the car.

“Three men saw a Toyota Corolla when he stopped in front of the house in extension 13. They pulled out a gun and shot at one man who died at the scene.”

Makhubela said the motive for the shooting is unknown at the moment and police are investigating a case of murder.

In a separate incident another man was shot in the leg in Hydrangea Avenue, also in Lenasia after a group of men broke in to his house during the early hours of this morning.

“Four men got into a house in extension 2 where they robbed them of money, jewellery and cellphones. One man was shot and was admitted to hospital.”

Makhubela said no one has been arrested and police are investigating a case of attempted murder and house robbery.
