Two elderly women from Lenasia Extension 3, south of Johannesburg have been left traumatized after a group of armed men broke into their home in the early hours of Monday morning.

“There was a house robbery where a group of six men went into a house and tied up the owner and also the kids,” Gauteng police’s Kay Makhubela said.

A source told Radio Islam the two women were also allegedly severely beaten by the robbers.

Makhubela said jewelry, household items and a firearm was taken from the home.

“A case of house robbery was opened, no one was arrested and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact the police,” said Makhubela.
