Emergency Power Switch Off Planned for Lenasia

There will be an emergency power switch off in Lenasia extension 13 Nirvana sub-station south of Johannesburg tonight.

Local councilor Zarina Motala said the switch off will affect all areas of Lenasia except extension 1 and 2.

“An emergency switch off at the Nirvana sub-station will take place today in extension 13 from midnight tonight until 5am tomorrow morning. This is due to Nirvana sub-station running on one transformer and testing needs to be done urgently for continuous upgrading.”

Motala has urged Lenasia residents to switch off all non-essential appliances and to treat all electricity points as live at all times.
