Convenient, efficient and friendly service. That’s what motorists will experience at the Xavier Junction Licensing and Testing Station south of Johannesburg.

While some other testing stations like Centurion and Randburg have come under the spotlight recently for lack of service, long queues and even corruption, it seems the drive to improve service by the Department of Roads and Transport has become a priority.

Radio Islam visited the Xavier Junction Licensing and Testing station on Thursday.

From the guard at the entrance to the eye test officer Junior Mhlangu who went beyond the call of duty to assist applicants who did not understand the process and the cashier Philip Maseku, the service was exemplary.

While there will be criticism, complaints and other issues as each person will have a different experience altogether, manager of Xavier Junction Clayton Masoek said they are improving all the time.

“We constantly send our staff for training and retraining and we accept criticism on our short comings as much as we accept compliments. We try to improve where there is criticism.

He said they try to get as much feedback from customers.

“Much as we are still a developing TLTC, we try to get feedback from our customers all the time to try and improve our efficiency,” Masoek said.
