A 40-year-old shop owner, Ebrahim Bakhus from Azaadville was mercilessly gunned down at his electrical store in Delarey in Florida, West of Johannesburg on Wednesday afternoon, Gauteng police said.

“Two suspects entered into the store pretending to be customers. One suspect went to the store assistant who is an eyewitness in the matter and the other approached the owner of the store,” said Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Lydia Dikolomela.

“It is alleged that suddenly one suspect shot the owner on the upper body.”

It’s believed the suspects fled on foot across Ontdekkers Road.

“No arrests have been made yet. The police are investigating a case of murder,” said Captain Dikolomela.
