South Africans are outraged after an American lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, called South Africa a "failed country" during an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN.
In the controversial video clip, Dershowitz says he has spent time in South Africa and it is a “failed and lawless” country.
Several South African’s have taken to Twitter and You Tube venting their anger at what they perceive is his condescending comments.
“This goes to anyone like Alan #Dershowitz. You don't know us and visiting South Africa for a day doesn't make you an expert on South Africa,” Twitter user @DerekNugen tweeted.
"Oh please, Mr. Doucheshowitz – maybe look at your own miserable country before calling other's a failing country you pompous self-righteous ****!" one YouTube user wrote in reaction to the interview.
Dershowitz, a well-known criminal lawyer who has been involved in several high-profile legal cases, lashed out at South Africa during an interview with Piers Morgan regarding the Oscar Pistorius murder trial. – Agencies
