A man was shot dead and a policeman wounded during a robbery at the Shoprite Supermarket opposite the Golden Highway in Lenasia South, south of Johannesburg on Sunday.
 
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said seven men stormed into a shop and demanded money. “They took undisclosed amount of money.”
     
Makhubela said on their way out, they started to shoot randomly and a customer was hit and killed.
    
“They opened fire on the police wounding one member, he has been taken to hospital,” said Makhubela.
    
“The robbers managed to flee in two cars, but left a white Honda behind.”
    
Makhubela said no arrests have been made and a case of murder, attempted murder and robbery was opened.
