Jami’ah Online a project of Jami’ah al-Ulum al-Islamiyyah a Darul Uloom run by the Jamiatul Ulama has setup a platform for teaching and learning the traditional Islamic Sciences through innovative yet simple channels online.
“We are offering short courses as well as a four year course in traditional Islamic studies in Arabic,” Moulana Zaki Vawda told Radio Islam.
“The purpose of having a course like this online is to cater and facilitate traditional studies…to cater for people that are working and for people that can’t avail themselves to attend classes that have face to face interaction.”
The course will have two platforms where students can engage teachers.
This includes:
The Learning Management System (LMS), a student portal were notes and lecturers correspondence is located
The virtual classroom where interaction between students and teachers takes place. Most lessons will be live with some lessons pre-recorded.
At the conclusion of the course, students will have a basic understanding of the Qur’an, Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and a basic introduction to the laws of Fiqh according to the Hanafi and Shafi Mathabs.
“It’s a very exciting project and we’ve received overwhelming response,” said Moulana Vawda.
