August 21, 2014

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2014-08-21

Concerns over the delay in issuing of hajj visas have been resolved.

“There has been an undue delay unfortunately as a result of some technical issues that had been experienced,” The South African Hajj and Umrah Council’s President Shaheen Essop told Radio Islam.

“Suffice to say that we’ve managed to resolve all of those [issues].”

“I personally visited the embassy and Alhamdulillah passwords and usernames for all the hajj operators has been provided and some of the hajj operators are uploading the passports of the hujjaj and we shouldn’t have any delays going forward.”

Essop said the embassy of Saudi Arabia has given SAHUC the undertaking that they would assist to ensure that all visas are processed for the timeous departures next week.

The first few groups of hujaaj are expected to depart for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday 25th August.
