Lenasia Man Arrested for Shooting Wife at Car Dealership

A man from Lenasia has been arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly shot his wife three times in the upper body during an argument inside a car dealership in Lenasia, South of Johannesburg.

The woman who is in her 50’s was rushed to the Lenmed Private Hospital according to an eNCA report.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the couple visited the dealership to collect their new car.

"The man and wife went in to a Mercedes Benz garage. They were having an argument and were directed to the dealership’s boardroom to sort out their issues [in private]. Inside the boardroom the husband allegedly took out a firearm and fired five shots in the direction of the woman. She was hit by three bullets on her upper-body,” said Makhubela.

Makhubele added that the man would be charged with attempted murder and will appear in the Protea Magistrates court soon.

The cause of the argument remained unknown.- eNCA
