A devout Muslim soccer player Kenwyne Jones and striker for English Premier League club Stoke is fuming after discovering a bloody pig head in his locker in the club, apparently left by teammates.

It is reported that Glenn Whelan, the Republic of Ireland international, was behind the prank prompting Jones to throw a brick through the side window of Whelan’s Porsche as revenge.

In a statement, Stoke said, “The club takes seriously reports of an incident at our training ground this afternoon. A full internal investigation will be carried out and those responsible for any unacceptable behavior will be dealt with in accordance with the club's disciplinary procedures.”

If found guilty, Whelan and Jones could face fines for misconduct in line with the club’s disciplinary procedures, with chief executive Tony Scholes leading the investigation.

Following the incident, Jones friend Kissa Abdullah wrote a series of tweets condemning the despicable act as insensitive to Muslims.

She tweeted, “Big men acting like kids a pigs head is not a prank its just disgusting!!!!! Wtf??? I don't get how was that sup 2 be funny!!!! Really???"

In another tweet she said, “do you know what a pigs head represents in a Muslim religion ??" with an earlier tweet written by Abdullah, saying: "It just takes a minute to be sensitive to someone's beliefs no one says u can't have a sense of humor but let it be a joke! This wasn't!”

Islam and Muslims consider pigs unclean and their meat filthy and unhealthy to eat.

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran (Chapter 2 Verse 173): “He hath forbidden you only carrion, and blood, and swine flesh, and that which hath been immolated to (the name of) any other than Allah. But he who is driven by necessity, neither craving nor transgressing, it is no sin for him. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.”
