ISLAM WITHIN

April 01, 2008

The performance of Salah, making of Dhikr, the existence of Madaris and imparting of knowledge is insufficient for the formation of an Ummah and the descending of divine help.

Ibnu Muljim, the person who murdered Ali (RA), was a regular Musalli and Dhakir. At the time of his execution, when the people out of anger wanted to cut his tongue, he said: “Punish me as you please, but do not cut my tongue, I wish to spend the last moments of my life in the remembrance of Allah (SWT). Despite this, Sayyiduna Rasulullah (SAW) said: “The person who murders Ali (RA) will be the most wretched amongst my ummah.” [Ml Yusuf RA]
