April 20, 2016

Faizel Patel, 2016-04-20

At least 21 children aged between 6 and 12-years old have been injured after a minibus rolled and crashed through a fence on Mare Road in Roodepoort.

Paramedics say they arrived on the scene this morning and found the minibus on the side of the road with most of the children outside of the vehicle.

ER24’s Russel Meiring says the exact cause of the collision is not yet known but authorities were on scene for further investigations.

“On our assessment we discovered that 21 children had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.”

He says the patients were treated on scene and transported to Laratong and Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment.
