100 dead as Bhutto returns to Pakistan

Former Pakistani Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto’s return has led to the deaths of more than 100 people with at least 540 injured

 

Twin bomb blasts exploded near Bhutto’s convoy just hours after her return from an eight year self imposed exile.

 

the attack was believed to be among the deadliest in Pakistan‘s history.

 

Pakistan‘s president Pervez Musharraf, , condemned the attack as a “conspiracy against democracy”.

 
Bhutto, who was resting inside her vehicle at the time of the blasts, was unhurt and immediately rushed to her family home.

 

Speaking from Dubai, Bhutto’s husband Asif Ali Zardari says he blames government for these blasts.

 

He claimed the attacks are the work of intelligence agencies.

 

The Pakistani government claims Al Qaeda and other so called extremist groups are responsible for the mayhem.
